Geekplus, a global leader in mobile robotics and smart logistics, has dramatically improved PChome Online’s next-day delivery capabilities with the deployment of its cutting-edge Shelf-to-Person robots. This move comes in response to a surge in online sales and the need to boost efficiency in Taiwan’s largest intelligent warehouse.
PChome Online, Taiwan’s foremost e-commerce platform, has integrated hundreds of Geekplus robots into its 1,600,000-square-foot facility. This advanced automation has replaced traditional person-to-goods picking operations, resulting in a threefold increase in efficiency. The upgrades have enabled the warehouse to double its daily parcel processing capacity, handling approximately 200,000 orders during peak periods.
The logistics overhaul supports PChome’s commitment to providing 24-hour delivery across Taiwan, a service the company has offered for the past 24 years. To keep pace with growing demand, PChome’s automated facility is now equipped with the highest density of smart technology and automation in Taiwan. The system’s flexibility allows it to adjust the number of robots based on logistics needs, ensuring optimal performance during high-volume periods.
Alice Chang, CEO and General Manager of PChome Online, commented: “The logistics park features advanced AMR robots, shuttle rack systems, and automatic goods yards that are rare in Taiwan. By partnering with Geekplus and other strategic allies, we are enhancing warehouse and logistics efficiency, which strengthens our competitive edge in the e-commerce sector.”
Geekplus’s Shelf-to-Person robots, which transport full shelves of goods directly to picking stations, have revolutionised order fulfilment. This system reduces the need for workers to traverse long distances in the warehouse, thereby increasing productivity and creating a more sustainable working environment. PChome’s Linkou A7 Intelligent Logistics Park also incorporates carbon reduction management as part of its green shopping initiative.
Billy Siu, Business Development Director for Geekplus in Taiwan, added: “Our robots operate efficiently in low-light conditions, which reduces energy consumption while meeting PChome’s tight delivery schedules. By enabling workers to stay in one location while picking orders, we are not only enhancing operational efficiency but also contributing to a more sustainable and worker-friendly environment.”
This partnership underscores Geekplus’s role in advancing logistics solutions and supporting PChome’s efforts to maintain its position as a leader in rapid e-commerce delivery.
