Peartree Cleaning Services, a leading UK cleaning provider, has launched its latest Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) report, outlining the company’s commitment to environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and governance in its operations. The report highlights key achievements in 2023/24 and sets bold sustainability goals for 2025.
Among the standout environmental achievements, Peartree announced a 21% reduction in its total carbon emissions year-on-year, alongside an ambitious target of transitioning to a fully electric fleet. Currently, 95% of its fleet is electric, with plans to expand this further as infrastructure improves across Scotland and Wales. The company also reported a significant 88% reduction in plastic consumption, reflecting its ongoing efforts to minimise waste and improve sustainability.
To support its sustainability efforts, Peartree has appointed Georgie Hull as Sustainability Manager, a move that underscores its determination to integrate ESG principles into its operations at every level. Hull will oversee initiatives such as the Peartree 360, a bespoke quality management system launched last year. The platform is designed to track key ESG metrics, including emissions from staff commutes and plastic usage at client sites, providing the company with critical data to monitor and improve its environmental impact.
Peartree also highlighted its successful Supply Chain Transformation, a key component of its broader sustainability strategy. The company engaged suppliers to measure and report their Scope 1 and 2 emissions, a move that enables more precise carbon reduction strategies across its supply chain.
Beyond environmental initiatives, Peartree has also focused on its social impact. In 2024, the company’s head office staff contributed over 364 hours of volunteer work to support food banks, and it made financial donations to various community-focused charities. These efforts reflect Peartree’s ongoing commitment to making a positive impact on the communities it serves.
Looking ahead, Peartree has set ambitious goals for 2025, including further enhancements to employee well-being through expanded assistance programmes and the achievement of net-zero carbon emissions, in line with the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) that aims to limit global warming to 1.5°C.
Brad Reames, Owner and Managing Director of Peartree Cleaning, said, “2024 was a transformative year for Peartree. We have taken bold steps to reduce our environmental impact, engage with our communities, and uphold the highest standards of governance. This ESG Report is a testament to our team’s commitment to driving meaningful change.”
He continued, “Our vision for 2025 is to make sustainability part of everyday life at Peartree, delivering real value for our people, clients, and the planet. It’s not just a goal for us, it’s a responsibility we embrace every day.”
Peartree’s latest ESG report demonstrates the company’s ongoing commitment to driving positive change and ensuring sustainability is at the heart of its business practices. With ambitious goals for 2025, Peartree aims to continue leading the way in sustainable cleaning services while delivering value for its employees, clients, and communities.
