As the renewable energy sector continues to grow, the demand for safe and reliable home energy storage solutions has never been more critical. At the All Energy Australia 2024 exhibition, Hinen is highlighting its commitment to safety with the introduction of the A Series all-in-one renewable energy storage system (RESS) at booth K113. This event, recognised as Australia’s leading renewable energy exhibition, offers Hinen a platform to demonstrate how its innovative safety features are setting new standards in home energy storage technology.

The Hinen A Series incorporates multiple safety protection mechanisms designed to ensure user security. These include overcharge, over-discharge, and short-circuit protection, all housed within an IP65-rated dust and waterproof design. The unit is engineered to withstand extreme temperatures ranging from -20°C to +60°C, as well as adverse weather conditions such as floods, snow, and intense heat. These features effectively mitigate potential risks associated with severe environmental factors. Furthermore, the product has received numerous international certifications, including CB, CE, and UKCA, and is backed by a 10-year life guarantee, providing users with peace of mind.

Central to the Hinen offering is the use of high-quality lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery cells, recognised for their outstanding thermal stability and safety. These batteries have undergone extensive testing—including puncture, compression, and drop tests—demonstrating exceptional durability. With a high thermal runaway temperature, they significantly reduce fire risks by not releasing oxygen that could fuel flames.

Hinen’s focus on safety extends to its five-layer inverter protection system, designed for intelligent safety. Key features include PV disconnection protection with a manual PV switch, ground fault protection that monitors system grounding, and DC bus protection to prevent overloads and short circuits. The system also includes Type II and Type III surge protections, safeguarding against both DC side surges and fluctuations from the grid, ensuring consistent and pure electrical energy output.

In addition, the intelligent battery management system (BMS) provides comprehensive protection, actively monitoring for potential risks such as overheating, overcurrent, and overvoltage. The BMS is equipped with a dual power redundancy design to prevent system shutdowns from a single power failure. Enhanced by triple safety circuit protection through software, hardware, and a main fuse, the BMS ensures reliable and stable operation.

A standout feature of the Hinen A Series is its intelligent aerosol fire extinguisher, which is integrated into each battery module. This system can be activated within 15 seconds upon detecting a battery fire, automatically releasing an effective aerosol extinguishing agent to swiftly suppress flames. This innovation not only enhances user safety but also provides vital escape time in the event of an emergency, thereby minimising potential property damage.

With its advanced safety features, the Hinen A Series is poised to revolutionise home energy storage, setting new benchmarks for reliability and security in the renewable energy sector.
