Envision Energy, a global leader in green technology, has secured a significant deal with Vietnam’s PC1 Group, marking a key step in the Philippines’ push for renewable energy. On 24th January 2025, the two companies signed a Turbine Supply Agreement for the provision of 58.5MW wind turbine generators for the Libmanan Wind Power Project in Camarines Sur, located in the Philippines. The project is being developed by Aboitiz Power Corporation and is expected to be operational by the end of 2026.

The Libmanan Wind Power Project is an important part of the Philippines’ Green Energy Auction Program 2 (GEAP 2), a government-led initiative to fast-track the country’s renewable energy development. Through competitive auctions, the program aims to help the Philippines achieve its target of generating 35% of its power from renewable sources by 2030. Envision Energy’s turbines, known for their high efficiency and suitability for tropical wind conditions, will play a crucial role in supporting the nation’s energy transition and decarbonisation goals.

The project is also expected to provide significant local benefits, including job creation and economic growth in the Camarines Sur region, furthering the country’s efforts to boost green energy and sustainable development.

Envision’s involvement in the Philippines’ renewable energy sector extends beyond the Libmanan project. The company previously signed contracts to supply turbines for other high-profile wind projects in the country, including ACEN’s 344.5MW Quezon North wind farm, and Alternergy’s 128MW Tanay and 64MW Alabat wind farms. These agreements highlight Envision Energy’s growing role in Southeast Asia’s renewable energy landscape.

John Lee, General Manager for Asia & Africa Regions at Envision Energy, expressed his pride in the partnership, stating: “We are proud to collaborate with PC1 Group on this landmark project invested by Aboitiz Power. Our turbines combine cutting-edge technology with localized solutions, making them ideal for the Philippines’ energy transition.”

PC1 Group, acting as the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor for the Libmanan project, will leverage its extensive experience in large-scale energy infrastructure to ensure the project is delivered on schedule. Mr. Dang Quoc Tuong, Deputy General Director at PC1 Group, commented: “Partnering with Envision and Aboitiz Power aligns with our vision to advance green energy projects across Asia. We are confident in delivering this landmark project on schedule.”

The collaboration between Envision, PC1 Group, and Aboitiz Power highlights the importance of international cooperation in accelerating the energy transition in Southeast Asia. The Libmanan Wind Power Project is just one of several initiatives in the Philippines aimed at harnessing clean, renewable energy to meet growing demand and reduce the country’s carbon footprint.

The signing of this agreement is another milestone in Envision Energy’s commitment to advancing sustainable energy solutions worldwide, particularly in rapidly developing regions like Southeast Asia. By combining global expertise with local partnerships, the project aims to strengthen the Philippines’ renewable energy capacity and contribute to the region’s long-term sustainability goals.
