Asahi Group Holdings has unveiled its Sustainability Growth Platform, beginning with a global competition named The Challenge (Environment) to encourage startups and scaleups worldwide to develop transformative environmental solutions. The initiative supports Asahi’s commitment to achieving net zero emissions across its value chain by 2040.

Drahomira Mandikova, Asahi’s Chief Sustainability Officer, emphasised the importance of partnerships in tackling pressing environmental issues. “The Challenge reflects Asahi’s dedication to collaboration and innovation in driving impactful change,” she said. “By engaging with visionary startups, we aim to accelerate progress towards a sustainable future.”

Collaboration with Antler Ibex

To execute this ambitious project, Asahi has partnered with Antler Ibex, the corporate innovation division of global venture capital firm Antler. The collaboration leverages Antler’s extensive network and expertise in scaling bold, innovative ideas. Mandikova added, “Together with Antler Ibex, we’re prepared to support ideas that can bring us closer to net zero.”

Baz Saidieh, Global Partner at Antler, praised the initiative, stating, “Solving the world’s biggest challenges requires collaboration and bold thinking. The startup ecosystem isn’t just an opportunity; it’s a critical foundation for achieving sustainability.”
