U.S. Polo Assn., the official brand of the United States Polo Association (USPA), has announced a successful milestone in its collaboration with 4ocean, a Florida-based company dedicated to combating ocean plastic pollution. The partnership has surpassed its goal of removing 200,000 pounds of waste, successfully clearing approximately 215,000 pounds from rivers, oceans, and coastlines around the world.

Since their partnership began in 2021, U.S. Polo Assn. and 4ocean have worked together on various cleanup initiatives, with a significant portion of the waste being collected in Bali, Indonesia, and Guatemala. The efforts have taken place across 74 clean-up locations, highlighting the extensive reach and impact of the collaboration.

Alex Schulze, Co-Founder of 4ocean, expressed pride in the partnership’s achievements. “At 4ocean, we are incredibly proud to partner with U.S. Polo Assn. in our mission to create a cleaner ocean,” said Schulze. “Their dedication and support have been instrumental in helping us remove 215,000 pounds of plastic from our oceans. Together, we are making a significant impact in the fight against ocean plastic pollution.”

This collaboration is a key component of U.S. Polo Assn.’s broader sustainability initiative, USPA Life, which aims to reduce the brand’s environmental footprint. USPA Life includes an annual Beach Cleanup event in Palm Beach County, Florida, organised in partnership with 4ocean. Additionally, the initiative features a growing range of sustainable apparel, footwear, and accessories, allowing consumers to support eco-friendly practices.

J. Michael Prince, President and CEO of USPA Global, the company overseeing U.S. Polo Assn., highlighted the success of the partnership. “We are proud to partner with 4ocean through our USPA Life initiative to tackle the ocean plastic crisis for the third year in a row and to exceed our goal by pulling over 215,000 pounds of trash from the world’s waterways,” Prince said. “This partnership exemplifies the power of collective action in sustainability efforts and underscores our commitment to protecting our planet for future generations.”

In addition to their cleanup activities, 4ocean was named the Official Sustainability Partner of the U.S. Open Polo Championship® this April. During the prestigious event, held at the USPA National Polo Center, 4ocean collected plastic and trash from the venue. The company also used the platform to raise awareness through commercial spots broadcast during the U.S. Open Polo Championship Final on multiple ESPN channels, reaching millions of viewers and sports fans.

The successful removal of 215,000 pounds of ocean waste underscores the effectiveness of partnerships in addressing global environmental challenges. To learn more about the U.S. Polo Assn. and 4ocean collaboration, visit uspoloassnglobal.com/4ocean.
