Chinese home appliance giant Midea Group is unveiling its latest energy-efficient heating solutions at ISH 2025 in Frankfurt, under the theme ‘Green Vision, Blue Future’. The company is showcasing innovations designed to improve the sustainability of heating and cooling systems in European homes and buildings.
Buildings account for a significant share of greenhouse gas emissions in the European Union, with heating and cooling contributing to 34% of energy-related emissions in 2022, according to the European Environment Agency. However, emissions from this sector have also declined by 34% between 2005 and 2022, largely due to advances in heating technology.
Midea is positioning itself at the forefront of this transition by expanding its range of R290-based heating solutions. The company has already sold 6.2 million units globally, preventing an estimated 3.7 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions.
Among the products being showcased is the Nature ATW Heat Pump, Midea’s most advanced model yet, designed specifically for the European market. It meets the highest EU energy efficiency rating of A+++ and features R290, a natural refrigerant with a low global warming potential (GWP) of just 3. The unit also boasts an ultra-quiet compressor, emitting only 30 decibels—quieter than a typical refrigerator.
Another key product is the H-Pack Heat Pump, an award-winning design developed in Germany and Italy. Unlike traditional systems, it does not require an outdoor unit, allowing for full indoor installation. Designed with ease of maintenance in mind, it provides quick access to internal components. The system also supports integration with smart grids and existing gas boilers, optimising energy use in hybrid mode.
Midea is also showcasing its Vita Series Water Heaters, which aim to transition from electric storage heating to more sustainable energy sources. The Vita R290 Hybrid Water Heater, Vita Solar Water Heater, and Vita Gas Flame Water Heater offer solutions tailored for different building types, including high-rise and older structures. The gas-powered variant ensures stable combustion while maintaining low nitrogen oxide emissions.
Additionally, the company is presenting its iEasyEnergy Solution, a smart energy management system that integrates air-to-water heat pumps, energy storage, and solar panels. The system can provide up to 90% energy self-sufficiency for homes, offering a comprehensive solution for sustainable energy management.
Beyond heating solutions, Midea is also introducing its Solstice Smart Air Conditioner, which features an AI-driven temperature control system. The unit’s 180° rotating wind deflector delivers immersive heating from foot to head, while its AI algorithm, ECOMASTER AI, claims to improve energy efficiency by 30%.
ISH 2025, the world’s leading trade fair for HVAC and water solutions, has placed a strong emphasis on energy and water conservation this year. Midea, exhibiting at Hall 12.0, Booth E91, is reinforcing its commitment to sustainable and intelligent heating technologies, contributing to Europe’s shift towards greener energy solutions.
