Today marks a pioneering moment in plant-based eating as Meatless Farm unveils the UK’s first Automated Plant Machine (APM) at Shoreditch’s BOXPARK. From 9am to 6pm, Londoners will have the opportunity to access free vegetables, plant-based food, and recipe inspiration through this innovative machine.

The APM, a creative twist on the traditional ATM, is part of Meatless Farm’s ambitious campaign to encourage healthier eating habits and increase plant-based meal consumption. This initiative comes amid new research revealing a concerning gap in fruit and vegetable consumption and knowledge among UK adults. According to the study, only 13% of UK adults manage to eat their recommended five portions of fruit and vegetables each day. Furthermore, 96% of Brits are unaware of the 80g portion size for fruit and vegetables.

The research highlights that 87% of people struggle to meet their daily plant intake, and 76% are not aware that a balanced diet should include 30 or more plant points, which encompass a variety of plant-based foods such as vegetables, fruits, seeds, nuts, pulses, and wholegrains.

The Meatless Farm APM aims to address these gaps by providing practical support and education. At today’s launch, visitors to BOXPARK Shoreditch will find the APM dispensing free fresh vegetables, packs of seeds for growing a variety of vegetables, and Meatless Farm’s popular plant-based mince. Additionally, users can access recipe ideas to help incorporate these plant-based ingredients into their meals.

Morten Toft-Bech, Founder and CEO of Meatless Farm, explained the motivation behind the APM: “The launch of the UK’s first APM is all about making plant-based eating more accessible and appealing. By offering free vegetables and plant-based food, we hope to inspire more people to include plants in their diet. Our goal is to help people eat one million more plant-based meals this January, especially as many are looking for healthier and more sustainable options.”

The APM launch is a significant component of Meatless Farm’s broader initiative to support Veganuary and promote healthier eating habits. By offering practical solutions and resources, the brand aims to make it easier for people to adopt a plant-based diet and integrate more vegetables into their meals.

Boxpark Shoreditch, located at 2-10 Bethnal Green Road, London E1 6GY, will host the APM until 6pm today. Visitors are encouraged to take advantage of this unique opportunity to enhance their plant-based eating habits. This initiative by Meatless Farm underscores a growing trend towards sustainable and health-conscious eating, reflecting a broader shift in dietary preferences and environmental awareness. As more people seek to reduce their meat consumption and explore plant-based alternatives, the APM serves as a novel tool in making plant-based eating both convenient and enjoyable.
